Wedding Pictures - Round 2!

November 16th, 2006 by thelammles

We got our pictures back from the photographer, Christy, from Photogenick. She took something like 600 shots, so obviously we can’t share them all here. However, here is a nice sampling for you to check out of our big day.

We are still sorting through gifts and working on Thank You cards.  So look for those in your mailbox soon.

And we also wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving next week.  Hopefully you’ll all be able to be with family and/or friends and give a little thanks for all we have.

Back again!

November 9th, 2006 by thelammles

Sorry we’ve been gone for a while here. It seems we’ve barely had a moments rest after the wedding as we return to our “normal” lives.

For those of you wondering, we should be getting our pictures from the wedding soon. It’s a long story, but they’ve been delayed slightly as our poor wedding photographer, Christy, has been dealing with some health issues. Obviously we wish her a speedy recovery. So we’ll have those photos as soon as she’s feeling better.

In the meantime, I’ve uploaded a gallery of photos from our little trip to Chicago that we took a couple of weeks after the wedding. We were going to be in Joliet for the wedding of our friends Chris and Cari, so we figured we’d take a few days beforehand to have a little fun in Chi-town.

We spent one night downtown, right off Michigan Avenue at the historic Tremont Hotel. Built in the 1920’s, I don’t think a thing has changed since. And I don’t necessarily mean that in a good way. But, it was a bed to sleep in in a convenient location and we were able to keep our car parked there even after we’d checked out, so it worked well enough for our needs.

Unfortunately the weather didn’t agree with our plans. We wandered up and down Michigan Avenue in the pouring rain, but made the best of it as we so often do whenever things don’t go exactly as we’d hoped. The next day we were heading to the Art Institute and the weather was nicer, but still a little chilly. By the weekend, though, when we made our way out to the suburbs for some shopping and pampering, things had warmed considerably and the sun had even decided to come out for a little while.

We had a really good time during our few days of vacation and plan on making trips to Chicago a more common occurrence in the future. In fact, we’ve even talked about making The Windy City a spot we might consider moving to one day. You just never know.

Anyway, while we don’t have any “official” photos from the wedding for you just yet, I thought I could share with you a small gallery of pictures we took while visiting the Art Institute and a little bit of Millennium Park nearby. So enjoy these pictures and check back again soon for more.
