It’s pretty normal to meet new people at a wedding. Andrea and I have friends from different times and places in our lives who will meet. We’ll be meeting new members of our respective familes. And all of these people will be mingling on the dance floor and at the bar. But this weekend I realized just how wild this get-together is going to be.
For example, this will be the first time that many of my friends will meet my parents. As a kid growing up in a small town, this concept is very foreign to me, since not only did my parents know all of my friends, but also their parents. Some of these friends I’ve known for nearly a decade, whom I’ve talked so much about that my parents know exactly who I mean when I say “JKâ€, yet they’ve never met before. Some of these friends I’ve only known for a few years and will be completely foreign to my family.
But all of this pales in comparison to the introduction of my “three familiesâ€. You see, I was adopted shortly after I was born and, thanks to modern technology, was able to track down my birth parents a few years ago. Well, at our wedding, my parents are going to meet both sides of my biological family, including aunts, uncles, half-siblings and more. Of course the really amazing introduction will actually be a reunion between my biological parents, who haven’t seen each other in 31 years.
It’s exciting and yet a little scary to have all of these people under one roof. On top of joining Andrea’s family and her joining mine, this wedding is going to be my four worlds (adopted family, two biological families and my St. Louis “familyâ€) colliding as well.
Needless to say I’m anxious to see the results and I can’t wait to see you all there.

Things are looking good in Lammle Lounge preparations. We’re just putting the finishing touches on the invitations, so look for those soon! We’ll also be doing our own designs on the programs, place cards, and anything else that can be put on paper. We’ve had a blast doing it, so we hope you like it!
We’re going to try to post once a week to keep everyone updated on our progress, sanity or lack there of. Look for more posts soon, and don’t hesitate to send us an email if you have any questions or comments!

Yes, this is the first official post on our website. Pretty exciting, huh? I can see you’re simply shaking with excitment.
We decided to create a website so our friends and family would have a handy reference for everything pertaining to our wedding coming up in October. Because how many times have you lost a wedding invitation? Or misplaced the hotel information? Well, worry not, now you can just come to The Lammle Lounge and get all that information and more. So bookmark this site just in case the dog eats your invitation.
For the most part, vital wedding information can be found in the upper righthand corner under “Categories”. That’s where you’ll find information on the ceremony, the reception, hotels, and (soon) directions to all of these locations. However, the links below that menu will come in handy as well, so be sure to check them out.
While it might be a little unusual, Andrea and I plan on letting you know how the wedding planning is going and, as the day draws near, our thoughts about what it’s going to be like beginning this new life together. So keep checking back to this site and see how things are going. Any words of encouragement in the form of comments would be greatly appreciated.
And if you have any questions about anything, you’ll find our email address all over the place on this website, so don’t hesitate to shoot us a quick note and we’ll be happy to chat.
Thanks for stopping by and please check back with us again soon.
